Live well. Pay attention. Write it down.

That’s how I’d describe my life philosophy in a nutshell. In my quest to live up to that mission, I’ve enjoyed a whole lot of adventuresfrom driving horse-drawn carriages in America’s oldest city to introducing college freshmen to the basics of rhetoric. I’ve traveled to more than 40 of the 50 states and half a dozen countries, and I’m far from finished. As my towering stack of Moleskines can attest, I’ve been taking notes the whole time.

I’ve been writing professionally for eight years now, having gotten my start as a staffer at The Penny Hoarder. Over time, my work has expanded from personal finance and frugality to include travel, health, seuxality, body image and a host of other topics. I’m always learning—and always channeling what I’ve learned into the written word.

Along with publishing personal essay and reportage in popular outlets like HuffPost, Fodor’sYahoo SELF, The Motley Fool and Roads & Kingdoms, I’ve also handled content marketing and branding for businesses like ClassDojo, Lending Tree, SoFi, Chime and RVshare. My advice has been quoted in NBC News: Better and Student Loan Hero, and I’ve published creative work in journals like Fourth Genre, Nashville Review, DMQ Review, Thin Air Magazine, Buckman Journal and Sweet: A Literary Confection. I workshopped my in-progress memoir at Tin House in 2022, and I’m also Assistant Editor of the essays column over at The Rumpus.

I stay pretty busy, but I’m always happy to connect—so if you’ve a mind to, get in touch. We can talk about a project or compare travel bucket lists. Just don’t be surprised if I reach for my notebook.
