Jamie Cattanach is a writer living in Portland, Oregon.

Cattanach’s creative work has been recognized by a 2025 Pushcart Prize nomination and an honorable mention for the 2026 Jack McCarthy Book Prize through Write Bloody Press. She was also named a semi-finalist for the 2026 Terry Tempest Williams Creative Nonfiction Prize and shortlisted for the 2025 Disquiet Literary Prize. This year, she will complete writing residencies at Sou’wester in the state of Washington and the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity in Alberta, Canada.

Her publication credits include The New York Times, Fodor’s, Ms. Magazine, Psyche, Colorado Review and Fourth Genre, among others. Her forthcoming memoir was chosen for the Manuscript Mentorship program at the Tin House Winter Workshop. She served as Assistant Editor for the essays column of The Rumpus, where she was a reader for almost a decade.
